artist statement
My project was a skull with different random designs on the inside to make it look more decorative. I penciled it in and did a little shading, the back ground was a print of my first linoleum the mushrooms, I carved out each mushroom so I could print them in different ways on the background of my paper. I had a ribbon and two mushrooms placed randomly on the 18x24 white paper.
The media I used for this project was pencil linoleum and black ink. The challenges I faced during my final exam was accidently getting ink on places that were supposed to be plan white, I ended up fixing it by putting finger prints around the background making it look like I meant to do it.
My strengths were the drawing and shading, my weaknesses was defiantly printing onto the white paper, it was a mess. If I could I would have used sharpie instead of using just pencil to make it look more vivid and stand out better. Overall I really like my project and I think I did a decent job on it.
